CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICER
We are seeking a dynamic leader to fill this leadership position, who brings a compelling vision for the development and management of all district educational programs and services so as to assure improved academic performance and service. The Chief Academic Officer will have a high involvement in the district's reform efforts.
Qualificiations:

Applicants must possess a master's degree from an accredited college or university in administration, supervision or related leadership field. Doctorate degree is preferred but not required.

Must also have or be eligible to obtain a Louisiana teaching certificate as well as certification as a Superintendent, an Educational Leader - Level 3 and/or Out of State Superintendent. A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience is required as well as experience as a School Site and District Office Administrator. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate evidence of success in leading school improvement, district initiatives and increasing student achievement scores.

Interpret and use benchmark assessment and other data sources to differentiate instruction in the classroom.

Be able to successfully work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
-
Responsible for the development, revision, and evaluation of curriculum.

Responsible for articulation of curriculum Pre-K through twelfth.

Plans for evaluation and assessment of instructional objectives.

Studies the educational needs of the school community and recommends methods for changes to assure student progress toward stated learning objectives.

Advises and counsels the superintendent in all matters of instruction, curriculum, assessment, staff development and all educational support functions.

Makes presentations to the School Board in the area of academic leadership, support programs and services.

Ensures coordination of local programs and their compatibility with state guidelines.
